Taquitos Jalisco Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My wife and I are so happy to find a great Mexican restaurant in the Orlando area with authentic food. Most Latino food around here is either Puerto Rican or Tex-Mex (shoutout to Chevy's!). Got the mole poblano, and the mole sauce was great! Mexican style rice made right, and the service was very friendly. The server looked like Selena.

My go to restaurant for authentic Mexican food. My wife is Mexican so I know what authentic and good tastes like. I've had many things on the menu and nothing has missed the mark, but if your looking for a recommendations you've come to the right review. Puntos de filete - tender, juicy steak smothered in the most delicious green salsa I've had north of the border. Plato Guadalajara - a solid all around sampler plate. Chilaquilles - A Mexican breakfast classic that tastes good any time of the day.

Very good. Very authentic. Good service. The only reason why a 3 star is because I ordered a steak magnifico burrito that had very little steak in a huge burrito. Mostly beans and rice. Next time I would try the burrito loco.

I am not going to lie, I was incredibly dubious that I would find something to eat here since I am Vegetarian (by choice) and Gluten Free (most DEFINITELY not by choice). All in all, I figured I would just eat a couple of sides if I couldn't find anything. Since this restaurant is authentic, pretty much everything IS meat based and from the faces of all the other patrons it seems they were definitely enjoying their dishes. I am a HUGE Chilaquiles fan, and they did have them here so I ordered them without the chicken. The server did actually give me a puzzled face and repeated the order as if I just had asked for the silliest dish. My hubby got the burritos with veggies only. The guacamole we ordered for an appetizer was fantastic and the tomatillo sauce on the Chilaquiles was absolute perfection! For sure we will be back! Yummm

Good luck eating here. They have a new owner who was rude and closes now at 8:00. I'll not go back again. They used to be my favorite

Good stuff; friendly staff and very accommodating. Ambiance is nothing special but that's no reason to skip this place. The left side of the menu (traditional) are burritos and taco plates, with beans and rice for under ten bucks per person. The right side (house specialties) are priced higher: $15 - $20 per plate. I had combo burritos (beef and chicken) for $7.99. Can't complain about the price or the portions and everything tastes great. Spicy salsa was a good tip. We were seated right away, had drinks a minute later and food on the table in 5 minutes. Can't go wrong with this one.

New owners, new 'market prices'....really $25 for the Camarones al Infierno... (Hell Shrimp). It's not the Cap Grille.... Four very tastey large shrimp and the typical pre made banquet rice and beans...good, but not that good. Maybe $17 and I'll change my mind. Food was tasty but the sticker shock ended it. $160 total for five people and a couple of beers... Good eats, but does not warrant $32 ave per person ticket price. Beside my dish the others ordered typical dishes...and one last note. The chorizo/queso appetizer came with only two tortias. I asked for a couple more as there was more than enough cheese/chorizo to fill two more. They charged me $3.60 for two, yes two 6" diameter tortias....no kidding! Fix your prices and maybe I will return. Three star on taste, one star on value. Value overrode giving two stars.

This is still, after more than a decade, the only authentic table service Mexican restaurant in Orlando. There are some Tex Mex items, but the real key is to order the authentic dishes such as the pastor or the mole. I like the Plato Botanas appetizer sampler, but for a real treat try the Gorditas Pastor with everything. Also excellent margaritas.

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. At was almost 2 pm and only two other tables occupied. The decor is nice and the dining area is clean. The staff was very friendly and seated right away. Our drinks came in 3 minutes. Food was out in about five. While we waited we ate fresh chips and salsa. The salsa style is thin with chucks if tomato and onion, but has great taste. Food was fresh and authentic. Had the nachos, orden de tacos with pork, and enchilada. Would recommend highly.

We have been coming here for years and yesterday noticed that lunch service was waaay off!!! Short staffed, short tempered, and food was slightly "off". Only to find out, that there is a new owner that took over 2 months ago. Table next to me was complaining of her chips and guacamole..because she was given a melon scoop of guac. And ur salsa had been thinned out quite a bit. They were frequent customers as well and asked the waitress if there had been a change in management. I could tell they kept the same cook, but they have a long ways to provide the customer service that we were all used to.

As a first generation Mexican, I long for some good Mexican foot like my Mami used to make. Through the years, Taquitos Jalisco has always been excellent. The carne Asada is amazing. The chilaquiles are a must! The Sopes appetizer is spectacular. The owner is often on hand making sure everything is top notch. Run, don't walk to Taquitos Jalisco.

Highly recommend this place. We eat here at least once a week. Food is amazing and it's always out quickly. The prices can't be beat. If you like authentic Mexican food it doesn't get better than this.

Not authentic and overpriced. Go to Taqueria Jalisco for some real Mexican food.

Molcajete. That's all you need to know. It is the name of their grilled veggie, spicy salsa that upon request, can be provided to you to accompany their fresh chips. Their regular salsa is pretty good as well, but thin in texture as another reviewer stated. I usually end up dousing whatever main course I order with the leftover Molcajete Salsa as well. They have great tacos, especially the chorizo, and great corn tortillas. They're on the smaller side, so if you're starving, get a few. Two with a side of rice is usually enough for me only because I tend to eat too much of the chips and salsa. Their Chicken Fajita Quesadilla and Flautas are really good, too. What's important is that they come with guacamole, and it is perfectly creamy and flavorful. Then, what's more important is that they come with THEIR SUPER DELICIOUS RICE! It's honestly the best Mexican rice I've had in a long, looooong time. The last time we were there, The Castillo Kids performed some mariachi-style songs, including mainstream ones, which made it even more fun. They also have other types of performances on a certain frequency, but we haven't had a chance to experience them, yet. We try not to focus on their over-achieving decor (it's like as though all that is tacky about Mexico threw up in there) because their food is so good. Service has also been good, but we've always only had Jerry (sp?), so we can't speak to the other servers. We can't wait to return to try more food because so far nothing has disappointed us. And I'm dreaming about the Molcajete salsa. Mmmmm.

I wasn't wow'd The salsa is watery. If you like beans this is the place for you... It's cheap because there's no meat in your burrito just beans and more beans on a plate with a huge side of the same beans. I'm not excited. The favors were fine, service was wonderful, bathroom was a disaster. If this is authentic/homemade Next time I hear that I'll know to pass.

Combo Tapatio is an excellent sampler for anyone looking to try each of the Mexican traditional entrees, taco, burrito, and quesadilla. The specialty however is the burro loco. 10" of pure Mexican gold inside your mouth. If you can finish this mammoth, more power to you.

  • Kayla S.

Many of the reviews for Taquitos Jalisco were really misleading. We were pretty excited to eat here but sadly won't go back. As a few people have mentioned, the salsa was watery and doesn't stay on the chips. It's salsa water containing not just leaves of cilantro, but stems too. It just didn't make sense. We also tried the other salsa mentioned with grilled veggies but that wasn't good either. Nothing seemed fresh, it just tasted like it was sitting around for days. (Marination is of course not a bad thing, but..) My husband got chicken enchiladas with rice and beans - the plate just looked, well, gross and the presentation was not appetizing. Everything tasted bland. My Guadalajara Plate was much better than his food but still was not the amazing homemade Mexican food we were hoping for. The soft beef taco did have a real homemade tortilla but it was cracked and soggy too, so I couldn't pick it up. The chicken enchilada was the best part and looked better than the kind my husband got for some reason. And my chile relleno was flavorful but overall was just a mushy mess that I couldn't find the desire to finish. There are much better places to get Mexican food in Central Florida. The food was not terrible, but it's not our cup of mole.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Been coming here for years, recently updated the menus, but hasn't changed the quality one bit. The owner is very interactive with customers, you might even catch him singing a song with a local mariachi band that they have on select nights. I recommend substituting the house salsa for the spicy salsa, and for your entree the "burro loco" which is a local favorite. Authentic Mexican food at its finest.

Ok, O Town Foodies, this is my pick for Authentic Mexican Food! Sure, I've been to fancier restaurants down on Sand lake Rd but none better. You can pay someone to work for you but you can't pay them to give you their heart. They either have that capacity or not. The Owner Cervanti puts all he has into this place. He's even played the guitar for us one night. The food is good and a great value! For the best service ask for Isabella as your waitress she makes it happen. Go on a Friday night and listen to a wonderful Mariachi Band of local students. They've even been on Oprah! I like to support young people that are doing something with their lives. Be a sport and slip them a $5 bill in appreciation. Another family owned and run restaurant. Tell them I sent ya!

Border Grill (over by Universal Studios) has competition!!! Taqueria Jalisco has some serious good tacos, salsa, guacamole, and ceviche. Today I tried a tongue, al pastor, and carne asada taquitos. All three were juicy, tender and full of flavor. The corn tortillas are made in-house (along with the guacamole and salsa) and toasted which adds a slight crunchiness to the dish. I also tried the ceviche appetizer. It was only made with tilapia (most ceviches also come with shrimp) but it was still nicely cooked. Lastly, Jalisco offers GREAT service. We were greeted and seated immediately, our waitress checked on us constantly, and they even have additional staff that checks on the status of their salsa and chips at the tables. Great place. We will certainly come back!

Our first time there was today after church. I had the nachos. Yummy!!! Kids meal are huge! Great size!! Loved the mariachi band called the CASTILLO KIDS!!!!

We have been eating here once or twice a week for almost 10 years. The food has always been good and it seems to be getting better with the new owners. Finally got the liquor license approved, since the previous owner didn't pay his taxes. So the margaritas and beer are back! The servicers are fantastic, ask for Manny, Isabella or Greg. They will take good care of you and make you feel welcome. Dusty R.

Terrible quality food. Watery salsa, liquid beans, bland rice, mushy chili rellenos. Absolutely disgusting food. I can't believe the good review? My friend said her chicken in her taco tasted like it was an old seagull! Gross! I will never waste my money here again. Very disappointed.

If you like lard, this place will be perfect for you. Also we happened to see the kitchen and it is VERY dirty. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Water and ketchup as salsa. Sam's Club chips. Plain ground beef fillings. Cold, store-bought tortillas. If authentic means bland as heck to you, this is your place.

crap, crap, crap...........there isn't a authentic mexican restaurant in Orlando at all. All americanized. Sorry to burst your bubble.

after a day of biking in the west orange trail my friend took us here to get a bite to eat and a refreshing sangria and we felt in love with the place. that was 10 years ago. we still go there once or twice per month to get our mexican food fix. very authentic, definetlly worth trying it. two favorites are chile rellenos and the giant burrito... go and enjoy. they also have live music on the weekends.

I don't really understand the 4 star rating at this place. It's not bad, but not real good, either. First time here and I got the "burro loco". Very cheap and a good sized burrito, but just kinda average in quality and taste. Good, cheap family restaurant, and they tried to give it a good Mexican atmosphere with someone playing a xylophone with some sick Mexican beats in the background. With their prices, we'll probably be back, but I just can't rationalize to myself why they deserve more than 3 stars. I have been spoiled by Red Iguana in SLC, UT; maybe that's why.

Great place. Wed. is the best day to go for lunch. Go early to get a seat- yes- it's that good. make sure you don't get a seat by the door- it gets crowded and you don't want a butt in your face while you eat. Yes, it's that good.

This is a very good "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I was driving back from Miami to Atlanta today and decided to let my yelping buddies help me pick a place to have lunch. This place was worth getting off the tollway! The atmosphere was pretty Spartan...but I was here for the food. I asked the server to help me pick a dark beer...he suggested 2...I asked if one of them was close to a brown ale...he must have thought I meant brown bottle ;) LOL...the Bohemia was very much a pilsener...oh, well...things got better from there. I'm very picky about my chips and salsa...the chips were hot and fresh...the salsa appeared to be homemade and was very good. Inspite of the beer gaff, I asked the waiter for another suggestion. I asked him to recommend a shrimp dish...he pointed to a "Market Price" grilled shrimp and fillet mignon specialty dish...hmmmm...what the heck, I'm on a business trip...I'm sure the company wants me to have a good lunch!! The dish came with 3 huge shrimp...I'm serious...had to use a knife and fork. The steak was good...served with onions and melted cheese on top. The refried beans and rice were the best I have had in a long time. The MP (market price) for my shrimp and steak?...$25. The standard combination plates appeared to be in line with a typical Mexican restaurant...although this place is definitely not typical. I told my friend I just spent $36 on lunch...at a Mexican restaurant in a "Big Lots" strip mall...sandwiched between a Subway and a laundromat...and it was worth it...LOL (at least someone else was buying). Two thumbs up...and a big toe!!

In all honesty, I'm quite bewildered by all the positive reviews of Taquitos Jalicos of Winter Garden. I've been here on three separate occasions. Each time, service was great and we were seated in a timely fashion. But what really affects my decision is the food. The first time, I LOVED this place! The salsa with cilantro was AMAZING! The food was standard Mexican fare, slightly on the heavy side of the spectrum. But last two times that I was here, I got back to work feeling like hell! I felt like I needed to go to the restroom immediately and induce vomiting. I don't know what it was, whether it be the chips [which were fried and had a greasy taste], the refried beans [which I believe had lard] or the whole meal in general. Either way, I think I'll avoid this place in the future. If you get sick, don't say that I didn't warn you!

  • Candice M.

Good authentic Mexican food (not Tex-Mex). Salsa and chips are awesome! I hate to review it because I don't want it to get too busy. You won't find better tortillas ANYWHERE. EVER. Trust me, I eat a lot of Mexican food.

I've been eating here for about 7 years. There's a second location in MetroWest now as well, in the plaza next to NY Pizza on Hiawassee. The chips at this place are incredible, and the sauces match up too. The service is always awesome. Be prepared to ask for refills if you are thirsty. They make the usually stops, but if you drink like a horse, throw up your hand and they'll stop by as often as you like. The margaritas are good as well if you want something with a little booze in it. One usually does the trick and you can finish it almost by the time the food comes out. When the food does come out, don't touch your plate - it will be very, very hot as will the food that's on it. The beer list is pretty good for a place of its size as well. As Jeff T. stated, the menu is deep. If you're into shrimp and have deep pockets, try it out, it's awesome. I tend to stay in the chimi, enchilada, and burrito arena. I can safely say, I've never had a bad meal here. Even when the place was 1/4 of its size with only six tables - it was still good back then. The owner sometimes helps out with the tables as well. He has CDs for sale as well, and you'll notice some of his own (autographed) pics from some older singers and singing groups from the region. About the name.Jalisco is a state, in the country of Mexico. And Taquito is a place within that state. This is how it was explained to me. The site in MetroWest is a bit more upscale, this one a bit more casual, but definitely not a dump. If you like blaring mariachis, show up on Friday nights, you'll get a nice dose of some authentic music. Adios!

It's out there, man but it's worth the drive... This place is WAY out off West Colonial Drive in the Big Lot's plaza. Intersection of Colonial and Daniels/Dillard St. Look for a McDonald's across the street to have a clue where you need to be. The atmosphere is good, if not too taupe/rose colored. It has the look and feel of an authentic Mexican restaurant, but a bit cleaner dare I say. Run of the mill table and chair configuration, with synthetic table cloths. Right out of the gate, the chips and salsa are fantastic! The salsa is as fresh as you'll find anywhere. Mark my word sonny. Chips are brought out warm and crisp! The menu runs pretty deep. I ordered the 3 chicken enchiladas with beans and rice, and a side of guac. Everything was very fresh and delicious! The tortillas alone were damn near mouth watering. This place buries Garibaldi's. My friend Bear will be happy to know that this place has Chile Rellenos! I sampled a friend's steak fajita's and they was good too. Everyone seemed happy with their meal (there were about 9 of us.) The burrito grande was like an uncle to a Chipotle burrito, aka it was BIGGER! Service is prompt and friendly. Some guy named 'El Tigre' performs on Fridays. He came out and said hi to us, and seemed mega cool. There are posters and awards of him on the wall, as a legit musician! Check this place out, but definitely carpool to save some gas money! Can't wait to go back and try more of what they offer.

I thought I liked Mexican food before, but after a visit to Taquitos Jalisco, now I know I love it. The food is authentic and tasty and the staff attentive without being bothersome. Definitely number one for my Mexican fix in Orlando. Try the Burro Loco!

  • Chris M.

We don't eat here often enough. This is authentic Mexican food straight from Jalisco Mexico. The food is outstanding and is exactly what you would get in the non-touristy parts of Mexico. Everything I have had here has been fresh and delicious. The Chile Relleno is one of my favorites. BUT... if you are looking for Americanized Mexican food, this is not the place for you.

  • Rob V.

I am a Mexican food junkie so I was excited to eat here. The service was slow especially considering it was mostly empty. The salsa was disapointing and taste like low quality pace salsa. The hot was better. I think it's important to note that this is autentic Mexican and so not the same food is to be found as in a tex-mex resturant. For example there is no ground beef of any kind. The food was very good and seasoned nicely. I would come here again but probally would not go out of my way.

  • Diana P.

    o. you want Mexican food, this is the place to go. The salsa I just want to serve it up with a spoon. Each time we go I ask for my own salsa because it is so GREAT! I have have almost everything on their menu- it is always fresh quick serve, everyone works together to ensure that you are happy with everything. The owner always comes to the table and checks on everyone and thanks the for coming in that day---and HE MEANS IT- This is a great place for a 1 st date, just for dinner, bring the family or just because you want Mexican.

    (5)
  • Michael N.

Good authentic Mexican food! The homemade chips n salsa are fresh tasting and their main courses such as the burro magnifico are also fresh and tasty! The food also comes out quickly! On fridays and sundays there is a keyboard player that plays music with a latin flare. Not in the nicest strip mall but the food and ambiance make up for it.

I have always had a wonderful meal there. Nice atmosphere, yummy food, good prices. Do stop in and enjoy!!

Ever feel guilty about how good of a deal you got? .....me either, but if I did, it would be here. Amazing food and it is dirt cheap, certainly a must try. Nice lunch spot located next to Subway. Don't tell Jared but your $5 will go much further here...and taste better too! WARNING: do not actually attempt to ingest a 5 dollar bill, or 5 one dollar bills, or any amount of currency whether in bill or coin form that adds up to 5 dollars. Actually don't ingest any currency, ever, period....unless you find yourself somewhere where food is an acceptable form of currency. In that case do your best to determine if it would make more sense to eat that currency or attempt to trade it for something or greater value. I digress.... Bottom line folks, check this place out next time you're in the mood for Mexican, you won't be disappointed!! BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK: uhh everything but especially the lunch specials, they practically give food away! Try the Burro Locco

    (5)
  • Angie D.

I love their food. It is authentic mexican for very reasonable prices! Try the taquitos. Their beans and rice are very tasty.

  • Deryl S.

This place used to be great, but it's been on a steady decline lately. Food quality not so good (who serves burned tortilla chips!?), and the service becoming just sad. Turns out the place is under new ownership, and it's clear they are going to tank the place. I won't be returning, and it looks like I'm not the only one noticing the changes. My last visit was on a Saturday evening and the place was half full; six months ago there would have been a wait to get in the doors.

  • Seth R.

Good, fairly authentic Mexican food. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. Stopped in for a quick lunch date with my wife. I had the Tortilla soup, and a beef taco and a chorizo taco. Wife had chicken enchiladas combo. Everything was excellent. Lunchtime rush began after we came in, but the staff handled it fine. There were three large groups that showed up and it was no problem at all. Definitely coming back to try the tongue and al pastor tacos!

  • Jessica M.

Consistently good Mexican food with authentic flavors. Wish they had more veggie/bean options, everything has chicken or beef. I usually get cheese enchiladas but would rather order something a little healthier - bean and cheese enchiladas or bean and cheese burrito, etc.

AMAZING! You can't miss this experience. 5 Stars on food, service, atmosphere and entertainment. Live Mariachi band Thurs-Sat. Why did I wait so long?!

    (5)
  • Justin S.

Not sure what has taken me so long to review this place as it is practically a Winter Garden institution and a hopping spot especially on Friday and Saturday nights. The decor is modest, not fancy and dare I say a bit kitschy. If you look past that you will discover what makes this restaurant a true gem. It's the food. After all, is that not the main reason for visiting a restaurant? I always like to get the Burro Magnifico. The verde sauce that it is topped with is fantastic. The burrito is large enough for two meals, too. Yum, leftovers!

    (4)
  • Elisha P.

Two words: Chila Quiles. OK, chilaquiles is one word but I would like to emphasize how freakin good and authentic these are here. Taquitos is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Central Florida. I haven't had one bad meal here. The decor is decidedly, how do you say, Mexican? The servers are are friendly and the portions are huge and generally served with rice and a heaping portion of refried beans topped with cheese. If you go on a Thursday night, you get the added bonus of seeing the talented Castillo Kids performing songs in a handful of languages. Lunch specials vary by week, but you can sometimes get anything on the lunch menu for $4.99. Stay away from the "market price" specials for dinner, which can be exorbitantly more expensive than other menu items.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Orlando area. Definitely worth the trip. Try the Plato Botanes and Chilaquiles!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. Always have and always will. I used to frequent the one in Metro West but that one closed down so now I make my way to winter garden whenever I get the chance and it is still great! Everything they make is good from their chips and salsa to carne asada. I promise you that this place will not disappoint, possibly the best Mexican food in Central Florida!

Do you crave a sumptuous a Mexican feast cooked to perfection? Well take it from this authentic Mexican reviewer - get your butt to Taquitos Jalisco. The menu is rife with Mexican dishes that are out of this world. The menudo is just like my Mexican tita (granny) used to make. All the servings are large and meals are dirt cheap. Both your belly and wallet will be happy when you're out the door. The evening meal ambiance is occasionally complimented by the Mexican Mariachi team from the Epcot Pavillion at Disney. The music is awesome and don't forget to tip them for a personal request table side. This is a casual establishment where shirt and ties are not required. Just bring your appetite for a delicious meal at a bargain price. I've toured Mexican eateries north of the border in Texas and Florida and this place is among my top choices for Mexican fare. When craving Mexican food - carne or marisco, cruise on down to Taqutios Jalisco! Horale vato!!!! (applause and laughter appropriate now)

So came here with my wife and daughter. Place is nice and clean inside. Food not so good. Possibly the worst Mexican food I have ever had in central Florida. Service was ok at best too. The chips were even old and the salsa was like tomato water. I told the waiter the food was bad and I apologized. I usually never complain die to bad food. He didn't even take a $1 off bill even though we did not eat. I had to ask him for that. Bad night in WG.

So glad I found a place that has great tacos near me.

  • Heather H.

This place was packed when we got here - was happy that we got here right before they ran out of tables. The decor is a bit dated and the ceiling tiles had water stains. The salsa and chips were ok - the salsa was a bit runny for my taste... They don't have a very good place for folks to wait for a table - it is literally right next to other people eating. The table wasn't properly cleaned - it had left over scraps from the previous person, We ordered the queso fundido to start, it was pretty good - I enjoyed it very much. The mariachi band was a little loud, liked the fact they played contemporary music - good singers but hard to hear over them... Our waiter was very attentive and the overall service was good. I got the fajitas - they were very good. I think we will be back - but not unless we are in the area and 4Rivers is packed.

  • Michael S.

This place encompasses the best of both worlds. It is authentic enough for the purists yet has enough familiar "tex-mex" dishes to make even a novice at home. The "mood" for the evening is set with what is, in my modest opinion, the best homemade salsa in Orlando. It is served with fried tortilla chips and contains large chunks of onion, cilantro and jalapeño, all bathing in tomato juice. If looking for something spicier, ask for the "spicy" salsa and you will be presented with a bowl of fire roasted onions, tomatoes, jalapeño peppers and garlic. Chunky, spicy goodness. For the entrees, everything I have tried has a lot of flavor but some of the things I keep coming back for are carne asada tacos with a side order or rice and beans, and mole poblano. On top of everything, the staff is friendly and the food always comes out quickly. Give Taquitos a try, you will not be disappointed.

It's one of the best sangria I've had! The food is nothing but amazing every time I come here.

This is a good place for authentic Mexican food. The wait staff is dressed in Mexican attire. They are friendly and helpful. The food is pretty good, I like the chips and salsa they put at the table for you. The vegetarian menu is okay, but I think meat eaters will get more out of this place. The fajitas are the best thing we have ordered at our table. The margaritas are a little too sweet, get a beer.

Awesome mexican food and great service. I have found it difficult to find authentic mexican food around Orlando... this is the place! I had the enchiladas and they did not disappoint. The chips and salsa were great too.

I've been here twice in the past few weeks. Definitely the best Mexican I've tried so far in the Winter Garden area of town. I'll have to admit, this place is decent. It's definitely not the best Mexican I've had, that honor goes to a place in Texas, but it's comparable to Agave Azul I'd say. The salsa is awesome here, very fresh. They put hot sauce on the tables as well so you can make it spicier. The chips are decent. I've tried the fajitas here which is usually how I benchmark a Mexican restaurant. They were good tasting. Also, seemed like they use an entire onion and bell pepper on each sizzling tray. They don't include cheese as one of your fajita side items though. That sucks. The margaritas here are pretty solid. Ordering a pitcher of margaritas basically is like buying 4 individual ones and getting a 5th one free. One downfall is that they don't have Mexican beers on draft. At least, I didn't see any tap handles. My favorite is a Dos Equis Amber in a schooner glass when I have Mexican. Someone in Orlando needs to represent this. Service is quick and attentive. Try to get there before 6pm or you'll start hitting a line at the door. On weekends, they have a musician. It's nice cause he can distract the kiddies.

AWESOME Mexican food. Friendly staff, quick service, cute Mexican decor, and live Mariachi band! We ordered the Chili Relleno and a burrito and the food was damn good. Reasonable prices as well. We will definitely go back!

Oh my gosh, my sister raves about Taquitos Jalisco so much, I k we it would not live up to the hype. Or could it? It is in a vet nondescript strip center, close to a Big Lots, which is not my favorite place to shop. From the outside I was hoping my sister would regain her senses and go to Taco Bell, which is not in my top 100 places to eat. So we venture inside and we are transferred to another world. Pictures of Mexican music stars don the walks, including one of the owner, El Tigre. The atmosphere was campy Mexican, but it worked. Add to that a group of young singers that really added yo the vibe. While our service was marginal, the Sangria was terrific and the salsa fresh and delicious. I normally like a thicker salsa, but this may have converted me. The guacamole was hotter than I like, but my kids wolfed it down so quick, I may have misjudged it. For dinner I had Beef Tips in Salsa Verde and the quality of meat and the dish itself were amazing! I mean, I may have never had a better Mexican dish ever. We also ordered (huge) burritos, shrimp fajitas, tacos and no one had anything bad to say about it. Of course, those who tried my Beef Tips gave it rave reviews too. Only two desserts were available, but both were good. I had the ice cream one (I do not remember the name) and shared with two of my kids. On Thursday nights, they have a family group called The Castillo Kids that sing and dance. I have to say that they made the night that much more fun. Why not five stars? The service was terrible, but the server looked cute in his Mariachi uniform.

Whoever is in that kitchen...they know what's up. Someone was throwing down in that kitchen, and as a result, I was a pigglet. Yes I was.

Eh wasn't impressed. The house salsa was really watery and lacked tomatoes, all I can remember is that it had big chunks of onion and whole leaves and stems of cilantro. Not a fan, and I seem to judge Mexican places on the house salsa..kinda sets the tone for the rest of the menu. Started out with the queso with chorizo, came to the table in a glass skillet and she kinda mixed it up some table side but it could of used a little longer in the kitchen because it wasn't really that melted. They paired it with 3 tortilla which wasn't enough so we asked for a couple more to finish out the app. I ordered the chicken fajitas, because the table next to me just got them and it looked great...came flying out of the kitchen sizzling and smelled delicious. However that was not the case with mine, they arrived at the table with no sizzle and I was kinda disappointed. They did taste good tho. The fajitas were served with 3 small tortillas, rice, beans, small side of guacamole, and sour cream. I asked for side lettuce and tomatoes....be careful they charge for anything you ask for (it would have been nice to have the server mention there was additional charge) The group Castillo Kids, came around and offered to sing to the table, we took them up on the offer and they were really talented.

Went here with the wife for dinner. It was inexpensive and we got our food quickly. I got a burrito which was delicious, and she had some vegetarian platter which she was very happy with. Their salsa is obviously fresh made in house and tasted excellent. The staff was dressed like Mexican villagers in Clint Eastwood western movies. The service was fast and attentive. I did not get explosive diarrhea or a horrible parasite that would land me on an episode of "Monsters Inside Me" after eating here and drinking their water, so I'm sure it isn't authentic Mexican food, but who cares? It tasted good, the service was good, there was live music, they have Tapatio hot sauce on the tables, and they are fairly priced. If I get the craving for Mexican food, this will be the place to go in Winter Garden.

I just had my first meal at Taquitos and it was wonderful! I saw it was a critics choice in the Orlando Sentinel and decided to give it a try since it was just a mile or two from our home. The place is decorated with Mexican items that would make you think "what a dump" but don't let that fool you... the food is great and authentic. Our server was fast and very friendly and when I asked for recommendations, he was happy to point out some of their better dishes. I also noticed many of the local latin community eating here which to me means it is good enough for them to eat here it has to be great. It was. The price was great too... for two people... 1 app, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, and 4 beers all for under $30! Works for me! And they had a guy playing on a small electric piano... he was great! I will have to bring some singles so I can tip him in the future! Go for the food and the nice service.

My first visit for lunch at 1:30 pm on a Monday and I expected the restaurant to be pretty empty but nearly every table was occupied. That is a good indication of how good this place really is! Service was fast and friendly with very reasonably priced lunch specials. Fresh salsa and chips are brought immediately but save your appetite for the entree. I was very happy with flavor, portion size, and appearance. This is definitely on the list for regular visits.

Went there for the first time for a quick lunch. I know all Mexican restaurants serve chips and salsa, but must say that the salsa is absolutely delicious. The service was quick and very friendly. The food was absolutely wonderful. Best Mexican I've had in Orlando so far. ( I've only been here a year.) I had 3 tacos to test the meat... Grilled beef, pork, and chicken. Cooked and seasoned well. May seem minor but I don't use a lot of salt so restaurant food is very salty to me. Theirs was flavorful but not salty. Absolutely loved the corn tortillas my tacos came in and was told they were homemade... More brownie points. I would like to try a dinner or two before rating five stars, but if the experience is the same, I have no problem updating to five. This place is worth it.

Really like this quaint restaurant and food. Very authentic. Located in the Big Lots Plaza on Colonial drive. Very casual, but clean. It is a fair ways out in Winter Garden but I definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Maybe I'm spoiled, but to me this place is just average. It's great if you're looking for a quick meal that doesn't suck. I had the tortilla soup and some guacamole. The soup was just okay - I could make a better one at home. Guacamole was good as well, albeit a little expensive...$6 for a smallish bowl. Their salsa could use some work, IMO. It was a tad watery and was lacking in the flavor department. Service was fast and friendly.

Great Food....but don't come for lunch on the weekend and expect to order off of the lunch menu. You have to order from the dinner menu at lunch on the weekend.

Look, I've lived in Mexico, Guatemala, and have eaten authentic Mexican all my life. Everywhere I go, I always try and find THAT hole in the wall mexican joint that does it the way it's supposed to be done. That means everything comes with rice and beans, the tacos are cheap and on corn tortillas, and they have horchata and jamaica--among other things. Luckily, I've found that place here in Winter Garden, hallelujah. We didn't try and skimp at all and our meal was less than $20, and delicious. And we couldn't finish it all. I'll be here just about every week, guaranteed. BTW, try the chilaquiles, and don't leave without ordering the Horchata, it would be a crime.

Reminds me of the best Mexican food from San Diego. I saw one review saying the salsa was watery or too much onion. I don't go to Mexican for the salsa. This place hits the flavor mark. The best Mexican food is in California. The presentation here isn't fancy, but the flavors are right on. The Chilaquiles is awesome. I'm a white dude, so if you don't know what that dish is, Google it. You will love it and it'll be your new favorite vs. the old enchilada or burrito. Also try the Lengua tacos, if you like spicy. And they have the cool kids playing mariachi music. They're like 16 years old and sing in like five languages. Very fun time.

I have now lived in the sunshine state of Florida for nearly 5 years. In that time, I had yet to find a Mexican Restaurant that even closely compared to what I grew up with back home in California. UNTIL NOW! A client of my husband's recommended Taquitos Jalisco in Winter Garden. FINALLY - enchiladas, guacamole, horchata, carne asada, freshly made tortillas, and even chillequilles are made exactly the way this west coast native is accustomed. And on select nights, the most impressive young mariachi bands plays! They take requests and can do everything from traditional Spanish songs to Lady Gaga and the Devil Went Down to Georgia. Very impressive. Price is inexpensive, atmosphere is nice, staff is friendly and helpful, and most importantly, the food is perfect. I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner!

This is such a great place if you want good American-Mexican food and are tired of chain restaurants. Prices are very reasonable and portion size bigger then average. Staff is very friendly and helpful and makes THE best margaritas. Menu is plentiful in choices and there is something for everyone, weather you like spice or none and adventures or not. On the weekends they have a live music guy. I come here often and I will always recommend it to anyone who is looking to munch on chips and salsa and slurp a margarita while talking the evening away. Yum! Venue is small though and will get überfull for lunch.

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo it seemed only appropriate to visit an authentic Mexican restaurant with homemade dishes and a traditional flair. That's where Taquitos Jalisco comes in. The restaurant is a staple in Winter Garden, Fla., for its fresh ingredients, made-from-scratch dishes and live entertainment. The margaritas are pretty darn good, too. When we pulled up to the average-looking shopping plaza I was a little skeptical, but once we opened the door and were greeted by the sounds of live music and laughter, I immediately felt at home. After devouring the chips and salsa brought to the table, I couldn't wait for my Quesadilla Charra to arrive. A fajita quesadilla served with rice and fresh guacamole, the smokey flavor of the chicken went well with the cool, smooth guac. Each bite was an explosion of different peppers and cheese, making the meal both enjoyable and delicious. I only tried a bite of Jake's Enchiladas, but the gooey, doughy mess was flavorful and filling. A dollop of refried beans added a nice creaminess to my fajita quesadillas. Almost too full for dessert, we couldn't pass up the Postre Palenque. The fried flour tortilla was deliciously crisp and made for a perfect ice cream spoon. The rich caramel flavor was so good we lapped up the melted ice cream even after the fried tortilla's were long gone. In the end, my margaritas were a little pricier than I expected, but hey, what's Cinco de Mayo without a little (or a lot) of tequila?

Taquito Jalisco is a great option when one is craving Mexican food. The menu offers a mix of your run-of-the-mill Mexican dishes (burritos, tacos, etc) but it also features items that skew more authentic Mexican. The restaurant decor is at campy as it comes. The whole venue has a hacienda motif which seems executed by elementary school kids. However, the place is very clean and the service is fine.

I will go back again and again!!!

Easily the best place to get Mexican in Orlando and probably close to the best I've had ever. The food is really authentic and the service is really good. If you like Fajitas then DEFINITELY get them here. I usually go with the chicken and shrimp combo and am never disappointed. The only flaw I've food here is that the guacamole is just okay, not great, so I don't recommend it. You can't go wrong with anything else.

The Chili Relleno was very good as was the chicken enchilada. They handmake the tortillas which were good. The Salsa was too loose it needed more chunks in it but otherwise tasted good. Service was proper. There are some really funny pictures on the wall of unknown celebrities and a weird one of a guy pulling his cheek out.

We used to go to Taquitos Jalisco on a regular basis at the Metrowest location (now closed) and decided to try the Winter Garden location. We had been to this location years ago, and previously had a good experience here. We were very disappointed. The restaurant was dirty, and ceiling tiles showed water damage and leakage. The service was poor at best, and it was difficult to get our waitress to provide glasses of water (and once she did, the glasses were dirty). The salsa was bad, food was mediocre, and margaritas downright lousy. I would definitely not go back. It was a big disappointment, given what this restaurant had been in the past.

Some of the best Mexican I have had. Service is usually really good and the food is fresh and delicious. The restaurant is clean and the Friday night mariachi band is a must see. Great food and a wonderful value. This is a regular spot for me and my hubby when we go out for Mexican. Don't let the location and exterior fool you.

We've been going to Taquitos Jalisco for four years, since we moved to Winter Garden. Staff-friendly, Service-fast, Food-authentic & fresh, cost-reasonable, inexpensive. What more could you want. Okay, the strip center is not "pretty", but who cares, every other aspect of Taquitos Jalisco is first rate. Check it out!

This place is totally fab- our fav local Mexican hang-out. Yes, it is in a super-funk strip mall but that's part of the miracle. The chips and salsa are always fresh, the Sangria is uber nice. We are really addicted to the zesty steak fajitas and chille rellenos which is a great two-share. Go there on a Friday nite and you'll get a Mariachi band to boot!

The best mexican restaurant I have ever had. Great Burritos. Excellent Beef tongue tacos and they have this Jumbo shrimp in hot gravy kinda thing, which I forgot the name, DE-LI-CI-OUS. And their salsa, 3 different kind, mix and match and you will never look at any other place.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
